If the people who still believe in the trinity believe that ';these three are one';, then why do they keep referring to them as different entities? Remember that ';God was manifest in the flesh';. That scripture is in TimothyNo where is the trinity in the Bible. Why are people still being lead by this false doctrine?
Sheep flock together. No where is the trinity in the Bible. Why are people still being lead by this false doctrine?
Let all men of all nations be baptized in the name of the Father the Son and The Holy Spirit
Sorry Peggy, but you missed it.
Genesis 18. (KJV)
1. And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;
2. And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,
3. And said, My LORD, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:
Genesis 18 Catholic Bible.
1 And the Lord appeared to him in the vale of Mambre as he was sitting at the door of his tent, in the very heat of the day.
2 And when he had lifted up his eyes, there appeared to him three men standing near to him: and as soon as he saw them, he ran to meet them from the door of his tent, and adored down to the ground.
3 And he said: Lord, if I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away from thy servant.
It is pretty clear in any version that THREE men came to Abraham. And Abraham recognized the three as THE LORD. If God can appear as three men, he can certainly appear as God, a man and a spirit.
(Not that I believe that but this is where they get the justification that 3 = 1. Go figure.)
What's the difference if what you believe overall isn't true to begin with?
Faith Sojourner - So you really know what Elohim means? It is FEMININE plural. Stop using terms you don’t fully understand to falsely support your opinions.
So because the word hadn't been coined yet, the concept is false? No, that's foolish. There is one God, manifested in three forms - God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
Jesus told us to baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Why would that be necessary if they aren't all God?

I agree with you that there is alot of false teaching conserning God, and Who He is. Please allow me to share with you what I have learned about Him.
First, the Bibles teaches us that there is only one true God, and that His nature is decribed as trinity. Though I believe that the word ';triune'; best describes the nature of God. You see, too many who believe in the trinity teach the plurality of God so strong that they are more tri-theists that trinitarians. Let me see if I can share with you what I have found...
The Bible teaches us that there is one God. The Word declares that He is the eternal, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, sovereign, and immutable triune God; and it declares the unity of the Godhead where three personalities, equal in every divine perfection and attribute, execute distinct, harmonious offices, in the great work of redemption.
This does not mean that there are three ';people'; called God, but rather a way of saying God eternally exists in three personally distinct ways. Scriptures declare that there is only one God, Who is eternally manifested as Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
1 John 5:7, 2 Cor. 13:14, John 1:1,2, Rev. 4:2-5 %26amp; 5:1-7
Another way of understanding this definition of the nature of God, is to understand His attributes. By attributes I mean His omniscience (He knows all things), His omnipotence (He is all powerful), and His omnipresence’s (He is everywhere at the same time, and at all times). His omnipresence’s allows us to (in a very simplistic way) to see how He can be Father, Son, and Holy Spirit at the same time. Being omnipresent He is not only everywhere at the same time, He is everywhere at every time. God is here, now, at this present time. But He is also in the future. He is already there because He is not limited by time. He is also in the past. You see, time is linier. Time had a starting point (Gen. 1:1) and it will come to an end (Rev. 10:6). But God is eternal. He has no beginning, and He will have no end. Therefore time itself existents within God, God does not exists within time. I know this is deep, but it does help understand how the One true and Living God is eternally manifested as Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
Hope this helps.

This scripture presented the presence of the father, the son and the Holy spirit at one place. It was after Jesus was baptised and came out of the water.
The Holy Spirit was seen as a dove, Jesus was there and a voice from heaven said this is my beloved son whom I am well pleased. Matthew 3:16-17. 28:19 - Jesus said to the disciples to baptise people in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. God bless
WRONG !
The word Trinity is not in the Bible
Some critics of the Trinity doctrine claim that since the word ';trinity'; is not found in the Bible, it isn't true. Furthermore, some assert that if God wanted us to believe in the Trinity He would have stated the doctrine clearly.
First of all, it is illogical to claim that since the word ';Trinity'; is not found in the Bible that its concept is not taught therein. This kind of objection usually demonstrates a prejudice against the teaching of the Trinity. Instead, the person should look to God's word to see if it is taught or not.
Second, there are many biblical concepts that people believe in that don't have a specific word describing them used in the Bible. For example, the word ';bible'; is not found in the Bible, but we use it anyway to describe the Bible. Likewise, the words ';omniscience,'; which means ';all knowing,'; ';omnipotence,'; which means ';all powerful,'; and ';omnipresence,'; which means ';present everywhere,'; are words not found in the Bible either, but we use them to describe the attributes of God. We don't have to see a specific word in the Bible in order for the concept it describes to be true.
Following are other words that the Bible does not use but the concepts are mentioned.
*
Atheism is the teaching that there is no God. ';The fool has said in his heart, ';There is no God'; (Psalm 14:1).
*
Divinity which means divine quality or godlike character. Yet, we speak of the godlike quality of the Lord God. See Psalm 139.
*
Incarnation which means the word (God) who became flesh. Yet, this is definitely taught in the Bible (John 1:1,14).
*
Monotheism is the teaching that there is only one God (Isaiah 43:10; 44:8).
*
Rapture is the teaching that the Christians who are alive when Jesus returns will be caught up to meet Him in the air (1 Thess. 4:16-18).
So, to say that the Trinity isn't true because the word isn't in the Bible is an invalid argument. Furthermore, to say that if God wanted us to believe in the Trinity He would have clearly taught it in scripture, is also an invalid argument. Something does not have to be clearly formulated in the Bible to be valid. Not all things taught in the Bible are perfectly clear. Take a look at the book of Revelation. It contains many things that are cryptic that must be interpreted after examining all of the Bible. Even then, there are disagreements as to what some things mean. Yet, we know that the truths there are true whether or not we discover them.
Nevertheless, there are scriptures that demonstrate a Trinitarian aspect.
* Matt. 28:18, Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
* 2 Cor. 13:14, The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.
* Eph. 4:4-7, There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; 5one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. 7But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift.
* Jude 20-21, ';But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith; praying in the Holy Spirit; 21keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.';

Yes, Jesus was manifest in the flesh, yet he was G-d ALWAYS. Jesus was G-d and Man, inseperably.
';I am who am'; leaves much to interpretation. The Church fathers, men with greater brains than you or I, determined through discourse and intelligent reading of scripture that G-d the Father, G-d the Son, and G-d the Holy Spirit have existed together as three persons in one being since time immemorial. It is the FIRST MIRACLE.
Many people prefer the lie to the truth.
At 1 Tim. 3:16, the word ';God'; is spurious. In modern Bibles, it says ';He'; [Jesus] was manifest in the flesh.';
According to the trinity:
1. There are said to be three divine persons—the Father, the Son, and the holy spirit—in the Godhead.
2. Each of these separate persons is said to be eternal, none coming before or after the other in time.
3. Each is said to be almighty, with none greater or lesser than the other.
4. Each is said to be omniscient, knowing all things.
5. Each is said to be true God.
6. However, it is said that there are not three Gods but only one God.
Search as you may, you will not find one scripture that uses the word Trinity, nor will you find any that says that Father, Son, and holy spirit are equal in all ways, such as in eternity, power, position, and wisdom. Not even a single scripture says that the Son is equal to the Father in those ways—and if there were such a scripture, it would establish not a Trinity but at most a “duality.” Nowhere does the Bible equate the holy spirit with the Father.
Since you are either a JW or United Pentecostal, or maybe an athie trolling for fundies. I know it wouldnt do any good to explain it to you. You are already dogmatically set in your beliefs.
does it affect your Salvation?... it does not... don't worry about it... If you have come to God in The Way He prescribes then your free gift of Salvation is secure... as is mine... and my position on The Trinity had nothing what-so-ever to do with my coming to God as He prescribed and it has nothing to do with whether-or-not I will enter Heaven... my reservation is paid for and confirmed... if you would like to know my pov on The Trinity here is the link.

The same reason why many of them believe in a pre-tribulation rapture.
';The LORD appeared to Abraham near the great trees of mamre while he was sitting at the entrance of his tent in the heat of the day, and behold, Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby.';Genesis 18:1-2
There are three that bear witness in heaven, The Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost and these three are one. 1 John 5:7 (some say this is an interpolation.)
Any orthodox Christian, baptizes in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit, just as christ commands. The trinitarian doctrine seems illogical to the ignorant, but me and most Christians believe the truth of the Trinity.
There is one God, in three persons. All of the one substance and essence fountaining from the Father.
Well, what strange version of the Bible do you possess? Even the Jehovah's Witnesses 'New World Translation' clearly has the deity of Christ and the personality of the Holy Spirit in it!
And that scripture in Timothy proves the deity of Christ, does it not? If you are stumbling over the personalities of Father, Son and Holy Spirit, that could be because you have made the mistake of thinking three personalities automatically means three different entities. It ain't necessarily so!
Get back to basics by reflecting on how, if Jesus is divine, that makes him some sort of God yet the Bible says only the Creator God is to be worshipped and there is only one true God. Is Jesus a false god? If not, he must be the same God as the Creator and - surprise surprise - the Bible says Jesus is the Creator! Keep thinking about it - don't close your mind just because this doctrine brings us close to the Immortal.
Nowhere in the Bible does it talk about Christians asking each other if they are ';saved'; and judging the salvation of other people. Why are people still being lead by this false doctrine?
Nowhere in the Bible does it talk about ';altar calls'; in Christian services. Why are people still being lead by this false doctrine?
Nowhere in the Bible does it talk about Christians judging others instead of loving. Why are people still being lead by this false doctrine?
Nowhere in the Bible does it talk about God as being an old man with a white beard. Why are people still being lead by this false doctrine?
Nowhere in the Bible does it use the word ';rapture.'; Why are people still being lead by this false doctrine?
Nowhere in the Bible does it talk about how if you don't understand something that Catholics believe, it's all right to judge it as false, in your infinite wisdom. Why are people [you] still being lead by this false doctrine?
It's all over the Bible. And of all topics to talk about, you shouldnt be playing or be mocking this one.
Elohim is a greater-than-two plural (implying three). It is the first name used for God in the Bible.
Not three Gods, three ';personalities'; of God
Edit: Father - Son - Holy Spirit = Godhead
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John 15:26 Comforter = Holy Spirit
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
EDIT:
Throughout the New Testament Jesus tells us who He is…After the resurrection, when He is speaking with Thomas, Thomas calls Him my LORD and God…Jesus never corrects Him. Jesus doesn’t tell Thomas He’s not God….
John 20:25 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the LORD. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe
26And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
27Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
28And Thomas answered and said unto him, My LORD and my God.
OT....God claims He is the savior and beside Him there is no other....Jesus therefore is a manifestation of God in the flesh.
EDIT:
Note @ awasis …. troll?
FEMININE
…is that why it’s always applied to God…are YOU implying God is female?
Definition of this word =God in the Bible, a Hebrew Word for God
Eloah - Singular
Elohim - one God - but Plural
SH’MA YISRAEL YAHWEH ELOHENU YAHWEH ECHAD
Hear, Israel! Yahweh our-Elohim, Yahweh One - ONE but the Word USED is Elohim?
Most do not want to know. They love the darkness and ignorance as the Bible says. (Ephe. 4:18)
You my friend are mistaken.
