What is the RCC doctrine on decrees and edicts of Popes declared by following Popes to have been ';false?';

The RCC claims an unbroken connection to the Apostle Peter. When a Pope, who is considered the voice of Christ on earth, is proclaimed by a later Pope to have been ';a False Pope'; how are the proclaimations made by the false Pope dealt with by the Vatican? The current Pope has spoken in the past about false Popes and who is to say the next Pope will not claim that Pope Benedict was a false Pope? How do you logically reconcile this with the claim of ';unbroken succession?';What is the RCC doctrine on decrees and edicts of Popes declared by following Popes to have been ';false?';
How convenient of the RCC to rewrite history and declare whatever they wish to be true.

They worship icons, venerate men, and call a mere women the ';Mother of GOD';.

It is no wonder that the Protestants revolted against such error.

Oops! Waited too long to answer.

Catholicism is sounding more like a cult now! I read your emails, read some info %26amp; did a little research. I'm done! Catholics are doing very bad things/rituals. I need to stop reading about RCC, I don't want that crap in my head!

Hmmm.... I am unaware of any pope proclaimed to be a ';false'; pope by a later pope. When did Benny 16 mention false popes?

Jim
Can there be false Popes?Popes are elected by their fellow cardinals and then become gods representative on earth and enjoy Papal infallibility.in whatever they say or do.
%26gt;%26gt;who is to say the next Pope will not claim that Pope Benedict was a false Pope?%26lt;%26lt;

It doesn't work that way. An antipope is ';a false claimant of the Holy See in opposition to a pontiff canonically elected.'; Who else is claiming to be Pope? Is there any confusion in the mind of the public who is Pope? Have any Cardinals said, ';no, no, so-and-so is the REAL Pope';?

Decrees and edicts can be overturned even if the previous Pope was legitimate. For example, John Paul II changed the rules for conclaves, and Benedict XVI changed them yet again.
