False doctrines in today's churches? What are they? Give scripture backup showing truth?

Just curious as to some of the heresies that are being taught in organised religion in today's time. I would prefer scripture that plainly shows why a certain practice is heresy.False doctrines in today's churches? What are they? Give scripture backup showing truth?
There are so many that it would be laborous to list them all. It all depends on the church. The existance of Hell and the devil are two popular ones. If I list the scriptures it will get very long.

denying the miracle spiritual gifts, but accepting the others. 1Corinthians 12 27-31 talks about the gifts, denying tongues, miracles, apostles, but accepting teachers, helps, governments. Ephesians 4:7-11 same thing. Accepting evangelists, pastors, teachers, but denying apostles and prophets.

Those are some, but different groups do different ones, now I am talking about Christian churches, not cults. Heresies are a little more serious than these that I have listed, I don't consider these things heresy. JW's and Mormons commit heresy.

False doctrine is one thing and Heresy another..False doctrines in today's churches? What are they? Give scripture backup showing truth?
A couple that come to mind: that a soul survives death, when Ecclesiastes 9:5,6 says ';for the living are concious that they will die, but as for the dead they are concious of nothing at all..

2)that Jesus and God are the same person and equal, when at John 14:28 Jesus HIMSELF says that his Father is greater than he is..

These are only two,and only two scriptural references to go with them, but there are PLENTY more! If you have questions, please feel free to contact your local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. They will happily answer any questions you may have out of your own Bible and on your schedule. Good Luck, and thanks for the opportunity to share tonight!!
One of the first ones I can think of, is Matt.23:9, which reads, '; And call no man your father upon the earth; for one is your Father, which is in heaven';. This scripture plainly shows that Jesus tells us that only God is our Father, and should be the only Spiritual being that we would refer to as our Father, It clearly tells us the priests in some churches are not to be called ';Father';...This is a false doctrine..
';Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.'; Proverbs 29:18

Some churches believe that you can do anything you want and still go to Heaven;that there are no real moral laws. This verse would indicate that there are some laws that God expects us to follow.
One thing I see is trouble distinguishing between justification and sanctification. Ephesians 2:8-9, says ';For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast.'; This and other scriptures make it pretty clear that our good deeds are not what gets us into heaven. Theologians have called this Justification.

Ephesians 2:10 says ';For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.'; James 2:17 says ';In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.'; These and other scriptures seem to make it clear that works are important. Theologians have called this Sanctification.

Many churches confuse these or disregard one of them. Some say that you have to do good works in order to be saved. Others shun the word works, and when someone tells them they should be doing more than just going to church on Sunday, they quote Ephesians 2:8-9, totally missing verse 10!
