False doctrines in our midst ? Christians .?

I am not talking denomination here as I see good and bad in all. What are some of the false teachings amongst us today and where is your scripture to back up what your saying? If you can't provide scripture please don't bother to answer.False doctrines in our midst ? Christians .?
I think one is how much people try to separate faith and works, as if it could be just all one or the other.

I think James 2:18 ';Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.'; shows just how interconnected the two concepts are. Like you really can't have one without the other - they work together as a whole.False doctrines in our midst ? Christians .?
What makes you think scripture is not false, just because someone wrote it makes it true, they will have a hell of a time convincing the world on that one.
THe false doctrine that is heavy upon my heart right now is the thought that all we have to do is get someone to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior and then God will take over and do the rest of the work.

I am not saying that large evangelical tent revivals like the ministry of Billy Graham are not good and useful, BUT when hundreds come forward and accept the Lord, they are left on their own once they leave the arena or tent.

Gods word does not support this we catch em, God cleans em thought process.

We who are more mature (learned) Christians must according to Gods word guide and teach these new Christians.

I myself, went forward many times and went right back to my old lifestyle. I had no one to show me what to do with my new thoughts, but plenty around me to keep me in my old lifestyle.

It wasnt until an older lady at church took me under her wing, so to speak and became my mentor. She stayed involved in my life, inside and outside of church. She involved me in her own family functions so that I could see that lifestyle in action, not just hear about it.

There are many biblical references to this mentoring and Loving guidance in the bible.

Pauls letters to timothy in which he tells him not to worry about his young age, to keep true to Gods will. Paul continually coaches timothy and helps encourage him that he is doing things correctly and within Gods will.

I picked a few verses here for you, by no means are these the only ones , nor all emcompassing.

Deuteronomy 27:7

Sacrifice fellowship offerings there, eating them and rejoicing in the presence of the LORD your God.

Eat with one another, bring dishes to share. Living apart from your fellow Christians except worship services is not what God has in his plan for us. We strenghten one another when together, we are weaker when apart.

Philippians 3:10

I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death

Jesus stayed in contact and friendship with his apostles, he did not simply tell them you are saved, go forth and tell others. He taught them through his words and actions, staying with them while they were learning and growing in their faith and knowledge.

We are told to do this very thing, but we seem to forget it and it seems to be ignored in many sermons.

Again, this is just one that is on my heart right now. I am a mature Christian in reading , praying and dedicated worship. BUT, I am lacking on mentoring new and immature Christians and see it lacking all around me.

I can count on one hand the people I know who mentor and stay involved with new CHristians and I know that there are not enough of them and strive to become one of them.
The biggest false teaching is that the Bible is the sole authority for the Christian faith.

The proof is: The Bible doesn't claim to be, nor was the Bible ever required for the operation and proper function of the church.

When Jesus ';swore in'; Peter as the leader of the church, Jesus 3 times asked Peter if he loved him, not the Bible.

I could go on, but you get the idea.
The Almighty YHVH set up a system. He sent His “Son” YAHOSHUA to die for the sins of mankind so they would not have to. (They could choose to, but did not have to). Any person who chooses not to allow Yahoshua to take care of their sins, chooses to remain attached to their sins. They thus will wind up in the lake of fire which is YHVH’s method of cleaning this world, and eliminating sin and sinners. The Creator set aside the Seventh day for rest and worship. Yes that is the day usually called “Saturday”. We are not saved by obedience, we are saved by faith. However we are saved FOR obedience. As He said in John 14:15 (and in many other places) “If you love me, keep my commandments.

Churchianity is a pagan religion. The only thing that will change a person is the indwelling savior Yahoshua. Obviously that is rare in this sinful world.
Evolution........... check Genesis. http://drdino.com/downloads.php
This weekend, I heard an evangelical preacher say that Christians should talk about how they were saved day and night.

The opposing view? It came from Jesus. Matthew chapter 6.
Good question. Here goes. One of the silly arguments against the Bible is that, ';Well, gee, it was only written by men';. If these same people would take the time to actually read the Bible, they would discover in the second book of Timothy, 3:16 it says, ';All scripture is given by inspiration of God....'; Now what does that say to you or any thinking person? I don't know what it says to you, but is says to me that these apostles didn't just sit around thinking this stuff up. That they physically wrote it down on parchment-duh. Another tremendously false doctrine in our midst is that of the current issue of gays and how God Himself looks upon them. If you would listen to alot of churches these days, God loves EVERYONE including gays. I say this because the main theme among alot of people in todays all but completely humanist and hedonistic society is that it is IMPOSSIBLE for God to hate ANYONE. In, I believe the book of Hebrews we find God Himself saying,';Jacob have I loved; Esau have I HATED.'; And again, in Revelations, He says, speaking of all the things a certain group called the Nicoletians do and are, ';The Nicoletians, which things I HATE.'; And again, In 1 Corinthians chapter 2, speaking directly of gays, lesbians, etc, it says,'; Men in their lust for each other and leaving the natural use of women, burned in lust for each other and women, likewise with each other left the natural use of the man, in lust for each other; God has turned them over to their own reprobate minds to do those things that are NOT LAWFUL TO DO.'; It goes on to say that those who practice such things are condemned and will never enter the kingdom of God.Yet we have modern day pastors preaching, ';Oh, love-Oh, love! Let's just all get together and and have a big hugging circle of love!.'; It personally nauseates me, but then I don't have to face the judgement that they do- now or then.
Hi,

Please refer to my question for your answer. I tell of one of the worst false doctrine's in the churches today and site scriptures, too. It's alittle long to fit here. Thanks. Great question.

Christians. Did Jesus come to bless us with worldly wealth?

It's called the ';prosperity message';. It is a spiritual poison in our churches today. It comes in different forms. One is ';name it and claim it'; kind of prayer. You tell God how much money you want and claim in faith. Another is when pastor says, ';You give 10% and God will give you back 100 fold!';

We should not be focused on worldly riches and pastors and evangelists should not lure people to give by telling them that God will give them more in return.

Jesus said, ';Woe to you who are rich, for you are receiving your comfort in full.'; Luke 6:24

Isaiah tells us that the Christ will be ';a man of sorrows';, ';aquainted with grief';, ';despised and afflicted'; Isaiah 53:4

In the wilderness temptation, Satan offered Jesus ';all the kingdoms of the world'; and Jesus turned it down. Matt 4:8-9

';But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare...'; 1Tim 6:9

The whole 5th chapter of James condemns the rich.

They quote the old testament where worldly riches were their reward. That's not what Jesus taught.

For some reason the link wouldn't work so I just copied it for you.
The idea of being “slain in the Spirit” is when a minister lays hands on someone, and that person collapses to the floor, supposedly being overcome in the power of the Spirit. Those who practice ';slaying in the Spirit'; use Bible passages that talk about people becoming ';as dead'; (Revelation 1:17) or of falling upon their faces (Ezekiel 1:28; Daniel 8:17-18; Daniel 10:7-9). However, there are a number of contrasts between this biblical ';falling on one's face'; and the practice of ';being slain in the Spirit.';

1. The biblical falling down was a result of a person's reaction to what he saw in a vision or that was beyond ordinary happenings, such as at the transfiguration of Christ (Matthew 17:6). In the unbiblical practice of ';being slain,'; the person responds to another’s ';touch'; or to the motion of the speaker's arm.

2. The biblical instances were few and far between, such that they occurred only rarely in the lives of but a few. In the ';being slain'; phenomenon, falling down is a weekly event in their churches and an experience that happens to many.

3. In the biblical instances, the people fall upon their faces in awe at either what they see or Whom they see. In the ';slain in the Spirit'; counterfeit, they fall backwards, either in response to the wave of the speaker's arm or as a result of a church leader's touch (or push in some cases).

We are not claiming that all examples of being ';slain in the Spirit'; are fakes or responses to a touch or push. Many people experience an energy or a force that causes them to fall back. However, we find no Biblical basis for this concept. Yes, there may be some energy or force involved, but if so, it is very likely not of God, and not the result of the working of the Holy Spirit.

It is unfortunate that people look to such bizarre counterfeits that produce no spiritual fruit, rather than pursuing the practical fruit which the Spirit gives us for the purpose of glorifying Christ with our lives (Galatians 5:22-23). Being filled with the Spirit is not evidenced by such counterfeits, but by a life that overflows with the Word of God such that the Word spills over in spiritual songs and thanksgiving to God. May Ephesians 5:18-20 and Galatians 5:22-23 so picture our lives
The concept of the Holy Spirit being a seperate diety from YHVH

YHWH's many Blessing's in Messiah Yahshua

For those with spiritual eyes and Spiritual ears
I shal do as i please thaankyou.
All of it
I think a big one is the spirit of Universalism...the idea being embraced even in the Christian community that all roads lead to eternal life....for example, Vatican II states...

Second Vatican Council, Lumen Gentium 16, November 21, 1964: “…Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or His Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience – those too may achieve eternal salvation….”

Here is the Bible verse you requested...“2But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves. (2 Pet 2:2)
