Why do religions that make false prophesies or continually change their doctrine still exist?

Most of the changes you are talking about are very subtle and very well rehearsed by the deliverers. It's a business. It has to be updated somewhat to survive.

Peace to you.Why do religions that make false prophesies or continually change their doctrine still exist?
people just want a quick answer, they take it all at face value. Instead of doing research and finding holes in an answer that is so far convenient to them, they just march blindly to whatever beat the preacher/priest/reverend or whatever beats out for them. Why do religions that make false prophesies or continually change their doctrine still exist?
The leaders came up with this neat little concept called ';new light'; which allows them to dismiss previous prophecies and still maintain their integrity among the sheep.
Habit.
Because people don't want to look at the history of their religion so that they may see it as for what it really is.
what are you trying to ask?
Anyone who claims to be able to foretell the future is either a fraud or insane.
Not all do that; just the fringe cults.
Ad hoc reasoning; the same reason any religion exists.
Because people choose to believe what they want to believe.
The same reason that science is correct today and wrong tomorrow.
Yeah, they are called Mormons.
its big business
Because there's a sucker born every minute.
Because the followers of these religions are very stupid.
