True or False; if the ';Fairness'; doctrine is re-enacted, it will silence Conservative Talk Radio?

That is a big ';if,'; but yes, it is true that if it is passed, Talk Radio would be silenced.True or False; if the ';Fairness'; doctrine is re-enacted, it will silence Conservative Talk Radio?
True or False; if the ';Fairness'; doctrine is re-enacted, it will silence Conservative Talk Radio?

That is their goal but it will fail.

True or false; Liberals are sore losers and are like cry baby children who pout when they don't get their way? If the people wanted to listen to Liberal talk show host ';then they would'; and there would be no need for any so called fairness doctrine. The people in a free society have chosen to listen to Conservative talk radio and to watch Fox news more then any other news station like MSNBC or CNN. That's the way it works and is why Fox news ratings are so high.

The left don't seem to take any issue with the fact that ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, The New York Times, The LA times and many other Liberal media outlets are all controlled by the Left who all vote for Democrats. You don't see them crying about how the fairness doctrine is needed to make the mainstream media more fair and balanced in giving a more Conservative to moderate voice.

Liberals, you can take your so called fairness doctrine and you can smoke it along with the rest of your dope.True or False; if the ';Fairness'; doctrine is re-enacted, it will silence Conservative Talk Radio?
Lawgirl and Mo in the Middle apparently don't understand what the Fairness Doctrine is. It requires that, for every hour devoted to conservative speech, an hour must be devoted to liberal speech. Since most talk radio stations are overwhelmingly conservative, that means the government is dictating what programming they provide, which is a clear violation of the First Amendment. If I want to hear the liberal point of view, I will turn on NPR.

If the Fairness doctrine comes back, does that mean Rush gets to be on NPR, or Hannity gets a show on MSNBC? I bet not.
No, if we can be arrested for shouting fire in a theater, then it would stand to reason that the media should be held liable for the accuracy of what they broadcast.

With the Fairness doctrine, Fox's motto, ';Fair and Balanced';, would be changed to, ';Fair and Accurate.'; Or Fox would have to face the music.
False.

The specter of the fairness doctrine is the best thing that ever happened to conservative talk radio. It's another fictional monster under the bed that the info-tainers use to create heightened emotional tension in their audience.

Give the people something to be scared of and then present yourself as the answer. It's great drama and it's hardly new.
Many things would stop talk radio.

(a) allowing the same slander laws that apply to you and me apply to them

(b) God deciding to lightening strick everyone that disobed his commandment ';thou shall not bear false witness';

(c) Journelistic standards applied by their corporate overseers

(d) Truth in advertising, let the people know who paid what lobbing firm for what result.

(f) elemination of 1st admendment rights for corporations -- corporations are enities not VOTING people

(g) campain finiance reform

(h) elimination of all corporate and private political donations

Basicly these people are nothing but paid liars, they care nothing more than about fattening their own wallets and there ever widening asses.
False, but here's the details of that answer. It will require every show to give equal air time to opposing points of view, which is absurd. rckfrom1966 above laid it out perfectly. He also maid it clear it's a violation of the 1st ammendment. But ultimately it depends on the particulars of the bill. These Nazi lawmakers today can pretty much make a law say and do anything they want in the fine print, and usually do. God bless.
False. Most cons on this site don't know what the Fairness Doctrine is. I am not in favor of it, but it doesn't silence anyone. It just requires them to present both sides of an issue that is a matter of public importance. You can still say what you want as long as you present the other side as well.

rckfrom1-LOL-it is not. try again.

Yes, and this would definitely go against the Constitution which is illegal. The Conservatives deserve just as much say as the liberals!!!
I really don't know, but if it does that is government controlled media and very unconstitutional.
That would take away free speech which is against our constitution.

We need talk radio to tell the truth. No one else does!
One can only hope.
Kind of depends on the particulars of the bill. But that would be their intention.
True. Don't let Obama kill the 1st Amendment.
That would be the goal. True.
