If you are a Christian then should you expose false doctrine or just let it go?

In every situation we must follow the Spirit, but we would have the authority to expose it based on scripture.





1Timothy 5:20 ';Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.';





Titus chapter 1


10: For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:


11: Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.


12: One of themselves, [even] a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.


13: This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;


14: Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.If you are a Christian then should you expose false doctrine or just let it go?
I sorry, I have to respond to ';Chris.'; I am a Protestant, and I am a ';saved'; Christian (although I don't like the terminology). The body of Christ are those who believe in Jesus as a personal savior, pure and simple. Stop factionalizing Christians!





I frankly don't understand the question. ';Exposing false doctrine'; continually is what leads to comments like Chris'.If you are a Christian then should you expose false doctrine or just let it go?
EXPOSE IT!





As it says:


Ephesians 5:11


Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.





And share the TRUTH always. Sharing the gospel, sharing the word of God is exposing their false doctrine as well.
We try to expose false doctrine, because lies are of the devil, and the devil is our enemy.





I don't want the words of my Heavenly Father twisted by man kinds irreverent mockery, or Satan's manipulation.





I expose these things to maintain the truth of God's word. Not that He needs my help.
It depends on the seriousness of the doctrine, and whether you can prove from scripture beyond any question that it is false. I believe that in matters that would keep a person from salvation we should expose false doctrine, but even then we must be careful. The unsaved world sees Chrisitans ';in-fighting'; and it hurts our witness... we need to speak the truth but try our best to do it in love... though sometimes that can be VERY hard to do, especially when it comes to false doctrine.
As a Christian Preacher I think it is the duty of ALL Christians to expose false doctrine.


The problem arises when trying to define false doctrine.


One denomination says another is false, hence the different denominations all claiming to be Christian.


As far as I'm concerned if the teaching doesn't line up with scripture, then it is false.
I think it should be exposed but be sure to back it up by the scriptures in the Bible. We must inform people so that they may know the true God, but must do it in a kind way. Just be sure you have the right scriptures to back you up.God Bless
depends, you could spend your whole life exposing all the false doctrine. When you come upon it personally, then expose it, but normally we are called to preach the truth which by itself will expose the false doctrine..
Expose it, but not argue.

which involves exposing false doctrine by the power of the Holy Spirit.





This is also what, (through the leading of the Holy Spirit as well), I do on my own forum.
False doctrine should be exposed.

It's like a fire inside me , but I at first I didn't Know how,for it dosen't matter what we think' Let Jehovah, from the bible do it.





Jesus was alive in heaven when the Hebrew Scriptures were recorded. How he must have enjoyed the opportunity to come to the earth and take part in explaining God’s Word! Think, for example, of that memorable day after his resurrection when he met up with two of his disciples on the road to Emmaus. Before they recognized who he was, they told him how saddened and confused they were over the death of their beloved Master. How did he respond? “Commencing at Moses and all the Prophets he interpreted to them things pertaining to himself in all the Scriptures.” How were they affected? They later said to each other: “Were not our hearts burning as he was speaking to us on the road, as he was fully opening up the Scriptures to us?”—Luke 24:15-32.





Later that same day, Jesus met with his apostles and others. Note what he did for them: “He opened up their minds fully to grasp the meaning of the Scriptures.” (Luke 24:45) No doubt, that happy occasion brought back to their minds the many, many times that Jesus had done something similar for them—and for any who would listen. He often took well-known scriptures and explained them in such a way that something wonderful blossomed in the minds of his listeners—a new and deeper understanding of God’s Word.





On one such occasion, Jesus was speaking to a group of Sadducees. They were a sect of Judaism associated with the Jewish priesthood, and they did not believe in the resurrection. Jesus said to them: “As regards the resurrection of the dead, did you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob’? He is the God, not of the dead, but of the living.” (Matthew 22:31, 32) Here was a scripture they knew well, written down by a man that the Sadducees revered—Moses. Do you see, though, the force of Jesus’ explanation?





Moses had his conversation with Jehovah at the burning bush about the year 1514 B.C.E. (Exodus 3:2, 6) At that time, Abraham had been dead for 329 years, Isaac for 224, and Jacob for 197. Yet, Jehovah still said: “I am” their God. Those Sadducees knew that Jehovah is not like some pagan god of the dead, ruling a mythical underworld. No, he is the God “of the living,” as Jesus said. What must that mean? Jesus’ conclusion was forceful: “They are all living to him.” (Luke 20:38) Jehovah’s beloved servants who have died are safely preserved in God’s limitless, unfading memory. So sure is Jehovah’s purpose to resurrect such ones that they may be spoken of as living. (Romans 4:16, 17) Is that not a marvelous explanation of God’s Word? No wonder “the crowds were astounded”!—Matthew 22:33.





Christians today have the privilege of imitating Jesus’ way of explaining God’s Word. Granted, we do not have a perfect mind. Nonetheless, we often get to share with others a scripture they already know and explain to them aspects of it they may never even have considered. For instance, they may have repeated “Hallowed be thy name” and “Thy kingdom come” for a lifetime without ever learning God’s name or what his Kingdom is. (Matthew 6:9, 10, King James Version) What a wonderful opportunity we have when someone allows us to offer clear, simple explanations of such Bible truths!
Most would be astounded by all the false doctrines presented to the saints these days. If we study the Word for ourselves, relying on the Holy Spirit to reveal, and lead into ALL TRUTH, we will not be subjected to lies.


Like dirty laundry, I believe exchanging truths about the Word should be done one on one, but, without contentions. It is a blessed person that can hash out the scriptures with someone without getting offended, or, think they ';know it all ';...


According to where one is in their relationship with the Lord, is how much revelations are given them...





Open our eyes Lord, that we may see, and all come into the UNITY of the faith...
Expose it of course, WITH SCRIPTURAL BACK UP! Now, that doesn't mean go ahead and be rude, hateful, judgmental, condemning, etc., you get the idea.





Make a loving and kind correction backed by God's word.
A Christian woulnt know false doctrine if it bounced off the desk and hit him on the nose
in this area, when dealing with other people, we need to be considerate to others, and solid to the word, we need to be very careful in the manner we do this.
I have no problem tell what is right and what is not, even if it dose tick off some, however I try not to insult any

You need to tread carefully, because on this site - as in the rest of society, one man's truth is another man's sacrilege. That seems to be the essence of most of the ';arguments'; on this site. Many times, the better part of valor is to swallow your pride, say a silent prayer, and know that if it is, indeed, false doctrine, it will be found out.


I for one, a Mormon, have to do that with nearly every question. There are way, way too many non-Mormons who try to define us without really knowing the truth.


In the end, we will all know the truth, and there will be no argument then.
