Can you be “one”with someone who believes in false doctrines?

Which of the following has the right doctrine

The First International Anglican Episcopal Lutheran Presbyterian Reformed Methodist Baptist Seventh Day Adventist Pentecostal Nazarene Unitarian Gospel Non Denominational Church and Assembly of God Christ Science Scientist of Latter Day Saints Jehovah Witness Evangelical Christian Restoration Calvary Bible Apostolic Progressive Faith Holiness Universalist Discipleship Congregational Covenant Independent United Communion Fellowship Conference Convention Association and Community Of The Lord. American Baptists, Southern Baptists, Christian Unity Baptists, Primitive Baptists, Duck River %26amp; Kindred Associations of Baptists, Baptist Church of Christ, Freewill Baptists, General Baptists, General Six—Principle Baptists, Independent Baptist Church of America, National Baptist, Evangelical Life %26amp; Soul Saving Assembly of the U.S.A., Regular Baptists, Separate Baptists, Seventh Day Baptists, Two Seed in the Spirit Predestinarian Baptists, United American Freewill Baptists, United Baptists, Free Communion Baptists, Anti-mission Baptists, Conservative Baptists, Fundamental BaptistsCan you be “one”with someone who believes in false doctrines?
And what makes you different and ''right?''

P.S. I had no idea there were SO MANY different Churches.

You're a fool if you're letting beliefs come between you two.Can you be “one”with someone who believes in false doctrines?
Ummm...atheists. :)

Christ! The more I read it, the more it sounds like keyword spam. 8o
Thats a big list! I can be one with some of them, but not others. Those who recognize the Trinity, consider Jesus to be God the Son, recognize our Salvation to be only through Him and His death on the Cross to be given by grace through faith not through good works but for good works, I can be one with.
Wow thats deep. How can you judge that each church is diffrent and each person believes thier own thing.
That is a subjective answer, as EACH of the afforementioned groups feels that THEY have ';The Right Doctrine';. (Sounds like a movie title, doesn't it?) Why are we so concerned with such trivialities as doctrine in religion? I'd have to say ';None of the above';.
I LOVED this question. It ought to make every one of us THINK.

Did God call us to ';organized religion?'; Which of the above list did YOU pick to join? Its really a mind blower when you look at this list, which is NOT exhaustive by any means, but does show us how many DIFFERENT ';churches'; with different criteria are actually OUT THERE.

God has called us to join a church ';not made with hands';, but one that is called a NEW CREATION, the church which is the Body of Christ. This is a LIVING, BREATHING entity which was brought into being with the ';preaching of Jesus Christ ACCORDING to the REVELATION of the MYSTERY which was KEPT SECRET since the world began';.

This means that the Body of Christ wasn't in existance in the prophetic books, including Mt. , Mk., Lk., and Jn. The ';church'; that was in existance at THAT time was the KINGDOM church, comprised of JEWS ALONE who were under the law of Moses.

Since God has called you to become a member of a BODY , and NOT of a ';church made with hands';...then one needs to be careful that the ';people meeting together with a common goal'; (ie; the definition of a church IS this,by the way) are NOT mistakenly trying to place people under the wrong church program for today. We arent under the Law of Moses, but under the gospel of the GRACE of God.

Where do we find the instructions for THIS church which is the Body of Christ. Scripture tells us ...Romans thru Philemon. That is where we find the ';gospel for OUR SALVATION.'; Another name for that gospel is the gospel of the UNcircumcision.

The gospel for the salvation of the Nation Israel is found in Gen thru Acts, and Hebrews thru Revelation. That is where they find THEIR instructions for the Kingdom Gospel. It involves a literal earthly Kingdom, with a KING and twelve thrones with twelve apostles.

OUR gospel, or good news is found in the instructions given by the RISEN Christ (not Christ in His earthly ministry, which was , in His own words, ';to none but the Nation Israel.';) to OUR APOSTLE...who doesnt happen to be Peter, but Paul...and Paul is the ONE apostle to the Gentiles. The 12 have the instructions to the nation Israel, Paul does NOT.

Very intuitive question and it shows how satan has had time to put together a very impressive ';plan of evil.';

God never called ANYONE to a denomination! I repeat, God never called ANYONE to a denomination!

He calls us to Himself....and we need to know where to find OUR mail, written specifically TO us and ABOUT us.
sometimes you just gotta go with what you know is right in your heart... i go to a non - denominational church and am comfortable there. we try not to get into the nitty gritty feuds that separate many churches these days. All the best to you, friend.
Is that all the choices I get? There has to be a few hundred more.
What an odd question . . .
ok, um, what?
none of the ones you named is absolute truth. accept it and move on. and in answer to your question. yes I am happily married to a vaguely christian man. I am a pagan woman. and while I dont agree with his way of of believeing I find that on most of the issues that sepearte people we agree so what does it matter that he believes in one god and I believe in many gods and goddess. he doesnt try to make me beleive in his one god and I dont try to make him beleive in my many. we agree that love is the highest law.
Can you? Which one do you feel is false. We all try to follow the word as best we can. Yes some add things that aren't there but they will have to answer for that.
Are they false because you don't agree with them?
The Bible and the Bible alone
As a Mormon, we believe that many religions have parts of the truth. But that we have the fulness of the gospel. People are so quick to question Romney on his Mormon faith, what about the other canidates? Contrary to many so called Christians, we do believe in Jesus Christ! He is the cornerstone of our religion! A definition of a Christian is a follower and believer in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. We believe in God the Eternal Father and in his Son JESUS Christ and in the Holy Ghost! Guess What people? That makes us Christians! Now Back off!
option 163- The mormon church.
the church of the first born, given as a promise.god has burned his law on the table of my heart';religion was created by man:this is part of the apostacy..(break up of the truth!)
forget jw thata a cult...im living with an agnostic..
Mormons
Sure you can, don't get all hung up on that stuff!
None of them, since they are all Christian.
';Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?'; (Amos 3:3)

Please consider the following. It is from a tract called ';Come and See';. Compare it to the Scriptures. If it teaches what is found in the Bible, accept it. If it does not teach what is in the Bible reject it! (Isn't that fair?)

COME AND SEE

By Garland Elkins

The above statement, “COME AND SEE” (John. 1:39), was made by our Lord in response to a question directed to him by two of John’s disciples. The two accepted the Lord’s invitation to “Come and see” and as a result they left John to follow Jesus!

The church of Christ in this community urges you to “Come and see” whether or not this congregation is identical to the “churches of Christ” (Romans16:16) of Paul’s day in name, membership, worship, unity, organization, practice and mission. Following the New Testament completely is that which makes the true church of Christ.

The Lord added the saved to the church that Christ built. (Acts 2:38-41, 47) There was no other church in existence. The same process of obedience that saved them caused the Lord to add them to His church. (Acts 2:47)

Not until hundreds of years later was there a single denomination for one to join! Now there are hundreds of man-made churches but there is no reason to join any of them! Why not be just a Christian? A member of the Lord’s church? (Matthew 16:18; Acts 2:47; Romans 16:16; Acts 26:28; I Peter 4:16)

THE CHURCH OF CHRIST WAS FOUNDED BY CHRIST

Christ promised to build but one church, when he said: “AND I SAY ALSO UNTO THEE, THAT THOU ART PETER, AND UPON THIS ROCK I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH; AND THE GATES OF HELL SHALL NOT PREVAIL AGAINST IT.” (Matthew 16:18) Paul tells us that Christ died for but one church: “HUSBANDS, LOVE YOUR WIVES, EVEN AS CHRIST ALSO LOVED THE CHURCH, AND GAVE HIMSELF FOR IT;” (Ephesians 5:25)

The words “the church” mean but one. The pronoun “it” can refer to but one. So Christ loved one church; he died for one church; he built one church. Therefore he is the owner of but one church. The plural form “churches” is never used in the New Testament except in reference to a number of local congregations in a certain section of the country, as “THE CHURCHES OF CHRIST SALUTE YOU.” (Romans 16:16) “THE CHURCHES OF JUDEA.” (Galatians 1:22)

TRUE CHURCH OF CHRIST WAS FOUNDED IN JERUSALEM

It was founded in Jerusalem, on Pentecost, the first one after the resurrection of Christ. This is shown by a number of things. A short time before our Lord died he put the origin of the church in the future when lie said: “UPON THIS ROCK I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH” (Matthew 16:18) Students of language know that “will build” is future tense of the verb and shows that the church had not been built when Jesus made this statement. However, beginning with this Pentecost the church was always referred to as present. It was on that day that “THERE WERE ADDED UNTO THEM ABOUT THREE THOUSAND SOULS” (Acts 2:41) “AND THE LORD ADDED TO THE CHURCH DAILY SUCH AS SHOULD BE SAVED.” (Acts 2:47) Never after Pentecost of Acts 2 was it referred to as something to be built. This proves that the church of Christ was established on Pentecost day of the second chapter of Acts. In fact, Peter declares that this was the beginning. (Acts 11:15)

CHRIST IS THE HEAD OF THE CHURCH OF CHRIST

Christ is the head of it - the sole head. Paul says: “AND HATH PUT ALL THINGS UNDER HIS FEET, AND GAVE HIM TO BE THE HEAD OVER ALL THINGS TO THE CHURCH, WHICH IS HIS BODY, THE FULLNESS OF HIM THAT FILLETH ALL IN ALL.” (Ephesians 1:22, 23) “AND HE IS THE HEAD OF THE BODY, THE CHURCH.” (Colossians 1:18) These passages make it clear that when the New Testament speaks of the body of Christ, reference is not made to his physical but to his spiritual body, which is his church. Observe please: (1) Christ is the head of his church. (Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 1:22, 23) (2) All who are in Christ are in his body. (Galatians 3:27; Colossians 3:15) (3) All Christians are in Christ. (Romans 6:3; II Corinthians 5:17) (4) Therefore, all Christians are in Christ’s church. Jesus came into the world to establish one, and only one institution through which to save mankind. (Ephesians 3:10, 11, 21)

THE CHURCH OF CHRIST HAS NO GUIDE BOOK BUT THE BIBLE

The church of Christ refuses to accept any human creed in religion. We definitely refuse any uninspired man’s statement, or system of statements, as our rule in religion. Articles of Religion, Confessions of Faith, Disciplines, Church Manuals and Creeds formulated by men are rejected. The word of God - and the word of God alone - we accept as our standard. The following scriptures show this to be the only safe course: “ALL SCRIPTURE IS GIVEN BY INSPIRATION OF GOD, AND IS PROFITABLE FOR DOCTRINE, FOR REPROOF, FOR CORRECTION, FOR INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESS: THAT THE MAN OF GOD MAY BE PERFECT, THOROUGHLY FURNISHED UNTO ALL GOOD WORKS.” (II Timothy 3:16.17)

Again Peter says: “ACCORDING AS HIS DIVINE POWER HATH GIVEN UNTO US ALL THINGS THAT PERTAIN UNTO LIFE AND GODLINESS, THROUGH THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIM THAT HATH CALLED US TO GLORY AND VIRTUE.” (II Peter 1:3)

The same apostle said: “IF ANY MAN SPEAK, LET HIM SPEAK AS THE ORACLES OF GOD; IF ANY MAN MINISTER, LET HIM DO IT AS OF THE ABILITY WHICH GOD GIVETH: THAT GOD IN ALL THINGS MAY BE GLORIFIED THROUGH JESUS CHRIST, TO WHOM BE PRAISE AND DOMINION FOREVER AND EVER AMEN.” (I Peter 4:11)

Therefore we implore all to go back to the Bible. Remember the Bible is right!

The church of Christ has no creed but the Christ, the son of God. It pleads for the unity of all believers in Christ on the simple plan of speaking where the Bible speaks and by remaining silent where it is silent, by wearing Bible names and by doing Bible things in Bible ways.

It seeks to obey the divine injunction given by Paul in I Corinthians 1:10 “Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” Our aim is to fulfill the Lord’s prayer for unity as stated in John 17:21. We seek to plant New Testament churches through out the world after the New Testament pattern.

TO BE ADDED TO THE CHURCH OF CHRIST ONE MUST COMPLY WITH

GOSPEL REQUIREMENTS WHICH ARE:

Belief in Christ (Acts 16:31) Repentance of sins (Acts 17:30) Confession of faith in Christ (Acts 8:36, 37) and baptism (Acts 2:38, 41, 47; Mark. 16:16; Acts 22:16)

Peter declared “BAPTISM DOTH ALSO NOW SAVE US.” (I Peter 3:21) We are saved by the blood of Christ which was shed in the death of Christ but no accountable person ever contacts that blood until he is baptized into his death. (Romans 6:3)

Salvation is in Christ, (II Timothy 2:10) but one cannot get into Christ except by baptism. (Galatians 3:27)

THE WORSHIP OF THE CHURCH OF CHRIST IS SCRIPTURAL

The items of worship are: Teaching (Acts 2:42; II Timothy 2:2); Praying (Acts 2:42); and Giving (I Corinthians 16:1, 2) Giving is an act of worship that must be done on a certain day of the week. As the original language clearly states, it was done on the first day of every week. Raffling contests and other such methods of raising money for the church were not practiced by the congregations under the direction of inspired men of the first century, and those who do such things today are not identical with congregations of the first century. Partaking of the Lord’s supper is another act of worship. (I Corinthians 11:23-29) Does the New Testament specify a certain day for the observance of the Lord’s supper? Yes! The day is clearly pointed out in Acts 20:7. The only day anyone can partake of the Lord’s Supper with the Lord’s approval is the first day of the week! A certain day of a certain month is never mentioned in connection with it. So it cannot be a yearly service. Neither is a certain day of the month mentioned. It cannot, therefore, be a monthly service. Singing is another act of worship (Ephesians 5:19; Hebrews 2:12) We are not just commanded to have music, but rather we are commanded to have a certain kind of music, that is Singing. In Hebrews 2:12 we are told, “IN THE MIDST OF THE CHURCH WILL I SING PRAISE UNTO THEE.” To add instrumental music to the singing is to go beyond Christ’s doctrine. (II John 9-11) Any church that employs mechanical instruments in its worship is not identical with the New Testament church. But the true church of Christ limits its music to singing just as the church of the first century. The five acts of worship discussed above were the only acts of worship that the early church practiced. We search in vain for any other acts of worship enjoined upon Christians today.

DOES HONESTY MAKE ERROR TRUTH?

Since early childhood I have heard people say that it does not make any difference what we believe, that if we are honest and sincere about it, God will save us anyway. Have you ever made such a statement? Most likely you have heard your preacher say the same thing. If he has, ask him for the verse in the Bible. You may have made this kind of statement because you have heard preachers make it, and naturally you thought it must be so. But if your preacher has been making it, he must have some reason for it since he claims to be following and teaching the Bible. He should make such statements providing the Bible says so. And if the Bible does say so, he will know where to find it. So ask him to give you the book, chapter, and verse.

Notice this scripture from II Thessalonians 2:11 %26amp; 12:

“AND FOR THIS CAUSE GOD SHALL SEND THEM STRONG DELUSION, THAT THEY SHOULD BELIEVE A LIE: THAT THEY ALL MIGHT BE DAMNED WHO BELIEVED NOT THE TRUTH, BUT HAD PLEASURE IN UNRIGHTEOUSNESS.” This indeed is a very plain statement. It positively says that some would “believe a lie.” Certainly there is a vast difference between believing a lie and believing the truth. The truth is recorded in the word of God. If it is not taught in the word of God, it must be a lie.

Does it make any difference which of these one believes? The general idea is that it does not matter, provided one is sincere. Of course, he could not believe anything unless he is sincere. A person might pretend to believe a thing and be insincere about it. But if he actually believes it, he must be sincere. So the Bible speaks of men who are sincere, for it actually says they will “believe a lie.” But what of their sincerity? Will that atone for their mistake? Will God save them anyway, just because they are honest about it? Is that what the Bible said? No, that is not the way it reads at all.

Observe verse 12 again: “THAT THEY ALL MIGHT BE DAMNED WHO BELIEVED NOT THE TRUTH.” Notice the word “damned.” This means the very opposite of “saved.” Yet we are told that certain men would be damned. But who were to be damned? All those who believed a lie or believed not the truth. It does make quite a difference what a person believes! For if one is to be saved, he must believe the truth. To believe something else will result in damnation—regardless of how sincere a person might be.

In II Timothy 2:5 we read this: “AND IF A MAN ALSO STRIVE FOR MASTERIES, YET IS HE NOT CROWNED, EXCEPT HE STRIVE LAWFULLY.” When people say it makes no difference what we believe, they often add: “We are all striving for the same place anyway.” And evidently this is true. We are striving to reach heaven at last. But is striving the only thing that is necessary in order to reach that glorious reward? This is all that would be necessary if it makes no difference what we believe.

The Bible continues to tell us that striving alone is not sufficient—that a man may strive and still not be crowned, except he strive lawfully. The crowning referred to is the eternal reward in heaven—the crown of glory that fadeth not away. But yet a man may strive and still fail to receive the crown. Why? Because he may not strive lawfully. No person can reach that crown unless he strives lawfully! What does it mean to strive lawfully? It means to strive according to the law of the Lord. So if we strive contrary to that law we will not be crowned, regardless of how sincere we may be.

The law of the Lord is revealed in the New Testament. If we strive to go to heaven by some other way, we are not striving lawfully, and will not reach the destination we desire. These truths in the Bible clearly indicate that it does make a difference what a person believes and practices in religion.

SINNERS—NOT INSTRUCTED TO— “PRAY THROUGH”

With the Bible as our rule of faith and practice, containing as it does, the revelation of God’s will to us, we should be very anxious to do just the things it authorizes. This is especially true since we are saved from our past sins and become Christians only if we obey the truth. (John 8:32; John. 17:17)

Also we are to be judged by the word of the Lord. (John 12:48) Where does the Bible say, “that inspired men ever invited alien sinners, to the altar to pray for salvation?”

In Acts 22:16, we read of an alien sinner, engaged in prayer when the Lord sent a preacher to tell him what to do. Saul, who had been one of the worst enemies Christianity ever had, became convinced of the error of his way. He asked the Lord what he would have him to do. (Acts 9:6) Jesus told him to go to Damascus and there he would be told what he must do. (Acts 9:6) So he went to the city and waited for — that — information. Ananias, a gospel preacher, was sent to tell him what to do. When Ananias arrived he found Saul, the sinner, engaged in prayer. Many modern preachers would have told Saul to “pray on until you pray to pardon.” Did Ananias tell Saul to pray on? He did not! However, he told Saul exactly what God wanted him to do! He stopped Saul from praying and said: “AND NOW WHY TARRIEST THOU? ARISE, AND BE BAPTIZED, AND WASH AWAY THY SINS, CALLING ON THE NAME OF THE LORD.” (Acts 22:16) To “Arise,” means “to get up.” So Ananias told Saul to get up from his praying and do something else - to be baptized and wash away his sins. Has it ever occurred to you that the average preacher of our day would not tell an alien sinner what Ananias told Saul to do? That is, to “ARISE,” and to “BE BAPTIZED AND WASH AWAY THY SINS.” When one is thus baptized for the remission of his sins (Acts 2:38) he is obediently “CALLING ON THE NAME OF THE LORD.” (Acts 22:16; Matthew 7:21; Luke 6:46)

THE LORD’S CHURCH OF ABSOLUTE IMPORTANCE

We place value upon a thing by what is paid for it. It is obvious that God places the highest value upon the church since he was willing to give his only begotten Son for it. (John 3:16; Ephesians 5:25) Christ not only loved the church enough to die for it (Ephesians 5:25), but his church is the only institution where the lost can find salvation. (Acts 2:47; Ephesians 5:23)

We are dedicated to the restoration of New Testament Christianity. Won’t you lend your influence to this worthy goal? We are neither Catholic nor Protestant. We are simply Christians. (Acts 26:28; I Peter 4:16) Isn’t this sufficient?

We regard the Bible as the final word. We strive to allow a visitor to be a stranger but once. Please “Come and see” and “Go and tell” others!
There are many paths to a destination. A car needs a road. A train needs tracks. People have different strengths and weaknesses.
Not unless you too are deceived.
Doctrines are man made, I only follow Christ through the Bible.
D. all of the above and every other religion too
Me!
I want to sing that to the tune of ';It's The End of the World as we Know It';
I think none of those are.
you forgot to put catholics in there. their doctrines are as false as any other christian group, since jesus is a false god.
Doctrines are always false. There are no comprehensive, terminal and true answers on everything.

Paul said to watch out for false doctrines, is Darwin's ';Origin of Species'; something Paul was talking about?

And he said let them be accursed.Paul said to watch out for false doctrines, is Darwin's ';Origin of Species'; something Paul was talking about?
Do you read anything else in the Bible besides what Paul wrote?Paul said to watch out for false doctrines, is Darwin's ';Origin of Species'; something Paul was talking about?
Let me get this straight. You're using something from a book of fairy tales to argue against a book about the early science of evolutionary theory. Are you joking? Are you 6 years old? Or do you just have the mental capacity of a 6 year old?
Paul is the one that wrote all of the false doctrines sir, when he fabricated Christianity with Peter in Rome in AD 56
True, it's not a doctrine... however, there are plenty of real false doctrines out there to mislead ';even the ELECT.'; I cite specifically mormonism. Okay, folks, thumbs me down if you'd like, but the TRUTH is that mormonism is a FALSE doctrine, and I simply cannot ignore that fact. My soul is particularly angry at the leadership, because I feel they are purposely and knowing leading others astray via misinformation and lying to their members.

Have a blessed day.
no, darwin was a deceived christian . and there is nothing spiritual about Darwin theory, remember christians are called to fight spiritual battle. if christians were obeying the bible darwin would have never be this popular . shame on these christian scientists. good question
Funny given that Paul effectively hijacked what would have otherwise become the Christian religion, but no. False doctrines refers to church matters, not worldly matters.
Why do people profess that God is intelligent, and we are in his image, but when we use intelligence to truthfully learn of our existence, it's heresy?
';Origin of Species'; might be mistaken, but creationism is an orchestrated litany of lies.
False doctrin was more directed at churches. One church today has lesbian women pastors, that is a false doctrine.
No, evolution is not a doctrine.
Not a doctrine.
It's not a doctrine.
No.

Try the works of Martin Luther, and Queen James the fifth; they're much closer to what he meant.

Why do people fall for the false doctrines of the T.U.L.I.P.?

This question is addressed only to non-Calvinists (please), and a non-Calvinist is by no means necessarily an Armenian. (I am neither).

As a non-Calvinist I am truly baffled at WHAT is it that is SO APPEALING to Calvinists that they would fall for the T.U.L.I.P. doctrines and be blinded to how clearly Calvinism is contrary to the Word of God? Again, please, only non-Calvinists should respond. Why do people fall for the false doctrines of the T.U.L.I.P.?
I did a stint in a Calvinist Baptist church back in the 90's. I was never so miserable in my entire life. Every time I went to church, I cried. Even the hymns were so depressing that they too made me cry. For me, there was no joy to be found in Calvinism!

How did I end up in a Calvinist Baptist church? I was reading the Bible independently and trying to find my way after leaving a pseudo-Christian cult. Instead of asking for God's guidance, I thought I could pick out a church all by myself. What I ended up with was almost ten years of total misery and the complete destruction of whatever faith I had. TULIP quite literally turned me into an atheist. (I returned to the Lord a few years ago and last year, to the Church.)

Now to answer your question...how did I fall for TULIP? I was lied to...plain and simple. They did it for the benefit of my soul, I am sure of their motives...but they twisted the scriptures to mean what they wanted them to mean and not what the authors of that particular book in the Bible meant. Scriptures were frequently taken out of context to prove their point of view. And of course, I was vulnerable to Scripture abuse as I had just left a pseudo-Christian cult...

I so miserable because I could not reconcile the God of the Bible that said salvation was open to all through Jesus Christ (John 3:16; 2nd Peter 3:9), with the God of Calvin who picked and chose who would be saved. And I rejected the teaching of ';total depravity';, because although I do believe in ';original sin';, I also believe that man is able to respond to God's calling him to grace. Total depravity says this isn't possible, so I rejected it.

And as for ';limited atonement';, the very idea that Jesus died on the cross only for a predestined few, is spiritual pornography, in my ever so humble opinion. Jesus died on the cross for all of us...for anyone who is willing to accept His sacrifice on the cross as a substitute for the death we deserve for our own sins. So again, I rejected that doctrine and with two down, they all fell in my eyes...and it took my faith with it. It took several years before God opened my eyes again...my Calvinist experiment was so not worth it...

As for why it is spreading....I expect it is because of the allure of being one of the ';chosen'; elect...also the promise of ';eternal security'; (once saved, always saved). Also, I expect that they have good missionaries.

Pax Christi! Why do people fall for the false doctrines of the T.U.L.I.P.?
The Calvinist doctrine is simply false doctrine and people are easily deceived by it. The first point of of T.U.L.I.P (Totaly Depravity, aka Original Sin) is false and is the foundation which the rest of the doctrines are built upon. See my website for details. http://www.dividingword.net/

I believe in the open view of God and also am non calvinist.

My personal experience is that it is like other false ideas demonic. In the past I have had experience in deliverance and the demon said he was the spirit of calvinism.. strangely enough our modern world of Christianity is full of these false ideas. It is the devils way of confusing the character of God so that people don't love and trust him. In calvinism the devil has no place because god ordained evil.. the devil loves tulip. It takes him off the hook.
I think the only person who could answer your question completely would be a Calvinist. Since it is not appealing to non-calvinist they would probably have a hard time explaining what is appealing.

I am not a Calvinist but I did grow up a Moonie (Follower of Rev. Sun Myung Moon) What I learned from being in that controvesial religion was that theology is often misinterpreted to show a point (usually a negative bias) to the public. If taken from an outside prospective widely accepted christianity (as well as other major religions) looks a bit crazy and illogical as well (watch ';Religulous';).
Not a Calvinist, but it's based on the concept of salvation by grace, in other words, God only gives it to a few. I've never understood the appeal of it either, and Arminius (giving us Arminian, not Armenian) pointed out that Calvinism leads to God foreordaining evil, which would constitute blasphemy.
';Calvinism'; and ';arminianism'; are both wrong.

Because, John 3:16 proves them both wrong.

WHOSOEVER (meaning everyone can be saved). Whosoever will believe in Jesus, gets ETERNAL life (meaning you cannot lose or ';leave'; salvation). :)
likely this:

what will be will be...

to need to worry about it

what gets me is why do calvinists evangelize?
There was a time when I really struggled to believe that man was totally depraved as per the teaching of John Calvin. In my naivet茅 I went to a Baptist seminary after undergraduate school not knowing that there were different approaches to soteriology and not prepared for the concept of total depravity. I had been taught original sin as a Moravian but never that this sin made man totally depraved unable to do any good. Try as I might I just could not accept this teaching of total depravity because it just did not match the Scriptures as I read them, instead the idea created conflicts in my mind with Scriptures. Try as I might I could not reconcile those conflicts and then began to reject that presupposition of total depravity and search for another understanding without the conflicts with Scripture and more doctrinal consistency. I came to this realization as I was studying my second course in hermeneutics and was reading some of Rudolph Bultman鈥檚 writings discussing the difficulty and his perceived impossibility of one being instructed by Scriptures without presuppositions. He stated that we all come to Scriptural study tainted by our worldview and unable to be objective and allow the text to instruct us instead of gleaning from the text support for that which we already supposed instead. I came to believe that this is exactly what Calvinist inclined exegetes do when the degree of depravity of man is studied and often ignore Scripture references to the contrary building a case for the one worldview of a depraved and hopeless humanity incapable of even recognizing goodness.

There were a lot of problems I had with Calvin鈥檚 theology on man鈥檚 total depravity. When I went to seminary, I had already been to war in Vietnam. I was not the innocent, idealistic person that had graduated from undergrad school. I had seen man at his worst exposed by war, murder, lust, hatred, etc. It occurred to me that if I was to believe in the total depravity of man then the logical assumption in a consistent mind is that God wills evil as well as good. Otherwise, God would destroy the evil in men with his irresistible grace.

Now I had no trouble in accepting God鈥檚 sovereignty but could not understand why God would predestine some to salvation and others as reprobate, all this by some mysterious selection when we were created. To me, it was impossible to ignore that God was creating some for righteousness and others to evil, some to eternity and others into the lake of fire and damnation if Calvin was correct. In a real sense, God was creating evil and goodness if Calvinist theology is to be considered consistent. This created great difficulty because I saw the consistent message in the Bible that God was just and loving. I just could not see the love and the justice in the Calvinist God creating those condemned as reprobate. In addition, this doctrine of Calvin was not consistent with my life experience where I had served in the military with many who had not accepted God鈥檚 saving grace but I saw the goodness of love in these people. With the presence of love how could they be the victims of the divine lottery of total depravity? Where there is love can there be total depravity? This seems inconsistent.

Calvinist doctrine continued to fall apart in my mind when considering why some are saved and some are reprobate. Calvin suggested that God chose who would be saved and who would be damned based not on any free will or choice of the individual but simply on God鈥檚 will through his declarative sovereignty, He wills it therefore it happens. But, I kept seeing in Scriptures that Jesus came to save all of humanity. I even thought for a time that Calvin might be right and the Scriptures that speak of salvific opportunity for all men may be a mistranslation from the Greek to the English or even the Latin as I was already a Latin scholar. Eventually, when I learned Greek, I found that the Scriptures do speak quite adamantly about the inclusive opportunity of all to receive the saving grace of God by our believing in Christ and through Him all salvation may be realized. Christ coming for salvation of the whole world certainly conflicted with predestination and with total depravity and try as I might I could not reconcile these Scriptures with Calvinist doctrine. This is especially clear in the writings of St. John the beloved disciple. No, Calvin must be wrong, the Scriptures do not talk of salvation for only the elect unless we would assume that the whole world is only the elect which Scriptures would also contradict. If the elect are drawn by irresistible grace why is this irresistible grace given to all and not just the elect? The Scriptures are not supposed to create more questions than they answer and in this doctrine leave so much ambiguity as to who will be saved and /or why some are elect and others are damned. Surely there must be some element of free will and not just irresistible grace. One thing in Scriptures that really jumped out at me was learning from Scriptures that God did not create the everlasting fire for mankind but for Satan and his minions (Mat 25:41). If He created the everlasting fire as punishment for them only as Scriptures teach, then why does He also create some of humanity for the everlasting fire?

Then there is the issue of original sin. We see the sin of Adam and Eve which we inherit but it is clear from Scriptures that they did not sin because of a depraved state. In the Garden there obviously was not irresistible grace that would prevent them from sinning. Had there been irresistible grace death would not have entered the world. It seems to me that they sinned from their choices made within their free will. Where in Scriptures does it suggest that as a result of original sin that we no longer have choice or free will but are subject to election through irresistible grace. Why, if God chooses us with irresistible grace as the elect, are we not regenerated into perfection, immune to sin? Where is man鈥檚 responsibility in Calvin鈥檚 theology?

(1Jo 2:2) And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.

Are these words not true? John Calvin brings them into doubt.

*PROSPERITY (NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING RICH AND BEIGN SAVED, BUT MANY DECIEVE WITH OTHER FALSE DOCTRINE TO GAIN WEALTH FOR THEIR OWN)

*THE RITUALS AND PRACTICE OF CATHOLICISM (PRAYING TO IDOLS SUCH AS STATUES IS A SIN AND FALSE, TRINITY IS FALSE, CONFESSING YOUR SINS TO A PRIEST IS FALSE, YOU ONLY NEED CONFESS YOUR SINS TO THE FATHER IN HEAVEN, OR TO EACH OTHER, NOT TO A PRIEST YOU CALL FATHER, YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO CALL ANYONE FATHER ON EARTH, YOU HAVE ONE FATHER AND HE IS GOD ALMIGHTY)

THAT THE EUCARIST IS THE ACTUAL BLOOD, AND BODY OF CHRIST, THIS IS SO FAR FROM THE TRUTH IT STINKS.)

CONFIRMATION, SACRAMENTS, ETC...NOT NEEDED TO BE SAVED. AND MUCH MORE..TOO MANY TO LIST.

*TO BE TOLERANT OF SIN (ALLOWING SIN IN THE CHURCH ON ANY LEVEL- JUST PRAY FOR FORGIVENESS AND KEEP ON A SINNING.)

*THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE THE POWER TO CAST OUT DEMONS OR HEAL THE SICK- (THIS IS FLAT OUT FALSE, YOU DO HAVE THE POWER, IF YOU ARE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT, AND HE LEADS YOU TO DO THIS, PRAYER AND FASTING SOMETIMES IS NEEDED TO CAST OUT DEMONS, AND GOD MUST CALL YOU AND YOU MUST BE FULLY ARMED WITH THE WORD OF GOD.)

    *THAT WATER BAPTISM SAVES

*DOCTRINES THAT DENY JESUS AS THE SON OF GOD

There are so many other false doctrines that are contrary to the word of God, that it would take a book to cover them all. It's unfortanunt, be we are living in the days of Apostate, and we are about to see Anti-Christ revealed. Be watchful and decerning, Have the full armor of God on, Strive daily, Work out your own salvation with trembling and fear, as even the very elect can be deceived in these last days.

Seek first the Kingdom of God AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS and all things shall be added unto you. You must be ever seeking God and the Spirit of Truth daily, continue running the race of faith in hope that you might be saved. Those who endure til the end, the same shall be saved. This means to the end of your life, or to the end of days.

Bottom line, If you are being taught ANYTHING contrary to the Apostles doctrine, then it is FALSE DOCTRINE.

its all fake why would god (if he really does exist) make it such a pain in the *** to be close to him? loving talking and getting close to your ';god'; should be nice and happy not confusing and aggravating!
None, the entire christian belief is bullshit. And Chris, stop with the prayer, it's getting really boring around here.
The truth about Jesus is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to eternal hell is by believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died for our sins on the cross and rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe this and you are saved!

Please pray now: ';Jesus, please forgive me of my sins. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and You rose from the dead. Thank You for eternal life!'; You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die. :)

What do false religious teachers and false doctrines/teachings have in common?

Jesus warns us in Scripture to beware of false prophets/teachers/ministers.

What commonalities are there found in false religious leaders and what they teach?

There are the obvious things, such as ';twisting Scripture'; but I am looking for more specific answers. What makes a false teaching false, when quite a number of people believe such teachings to be true? How do we discern a true teaching from a false one? What criteria do we use?

If you answer ';Scripture';, without specifics, this ignores the fact that some Scriptures apply to Christians, and some does not.

Time to put the brain in gear---What do false religious teachers and false doctrines/teachings have in common?
    Dear Hogie,

    That is an excellent question.

Before I read your details I was flippantly going to answer that they all have falsehood in common.

My second observation is that they have the human touch in one way or another in common.

My dad brought me up in a liberal Protestant denomination. My mom had become a Watchtower witness after my parents married and singlehandedly waged World War 3 in our home. She made so many pronouncements about what was going to happen to Dad, and we children IF we did not become jws. At the time I only had a gut feeling on which to base my beliefs that what she was saying just couldn't be true.

As an adult I finally read the Bible from cover to cover and that gave me a much better understanding to discern true from false or REAL from counterfeit.

Some years after I read the entire Bible the first time, I was talking to a cousin who was a jw at that time. Being close in age and not having the Mom-against-everybody-else baggage to deal with we were able to simply converse and decide we each did NOT want what the other had.

I was willing to pray about the situation asking the LORD to make His will clear to me. If my cousin was closer to the Truth then the LORD would have to change me. But if I was closer to the Truth then I asked the LORD to speak through me to Mom and my cousin. It was in answer to that prayer that the LORD spoke to me through Deuteronomy 18:20-22 which led me to the other Scripture regarding FALSE prophecy and discerning true from false.

I think it simply boils down to knowing the Bible, praying and willingness.

Afer awhile I left the liberal denomination that I grew up in and now attend a Bible-believing church. My cousin also left the Watchtower.

    For His glory,

JOYfilledWhat do false religious teachers and false doctrines/teachings have in common?
well according to the book of 1 John the way to test a ';lying spirit'; is to compare its teachings to the teachings of the rest of the Bible. If it's not in line with what God is saying in the Bible, it's pretty clear to me that it'd be false teachings.
    they are all religion...
They all teach against the keeping of the Laws of Yahweh.

Mat 5:17 ¶ Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to establish them.

Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? Yahweh forbid: yea, we establish the law.
I believe they begin with enlightenment and liberty from everyday problems.2nd Corth.11:12-15. Then they subtlely lead their followers to absolutes that are contridictory to their original teachings.

oh, claiming that a human is god, that kind of thing.
Is it God’s Will that We Join or Become a Member of the True Church of God in the Bible?

owadays, we often hear preachers say that the church and religion are no longer important because, what matters, according to them, is relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. And via this relationship with Christ, man would become worthy in the sight of God. They also claim that the church could not save a man.

If you are a keen student of the Bible, you would readily discern that such are claims and beliefs of impertinent people, those who have a very obscure understanding of the Bible. Of course, the church per se could not really save a man. But why is the church necessary? In the first place, is it needed or not?

If we will only exercise logic and common sense, we will not be misled. By using our common sense, let us see for ourselves if the church is needed. Common sense tells me that if it is not important, then, our Lord Jesus should not have established it! If the church is not needed, it would appear that our Lord Jesus Christ does not exercise common sense. Why build a church when it is not needed after all? It is just like installing a post, or a pillar that did not reach up to the roof. Of what use is that pillar if that is the case? If it is unnecessary you better discard it, otherwise, your head might just bump into it. If you insist in having it there, that is a proof of your lack of common sense.

But let us find out from the Bible if a man has any need for the church. And if the church is needed, should we make ourselves a part of that church? What do the Born Again pastors mean when they said that the church could not save a man? Actually, that is how they entice people from joining their “fellowship,” or “crusade,” or “ministry”. If we are going to ask the Bible about the importance of the church, which was established by Christ during the first century AD, the Bible will answer us truthfully. Do we have to join the church, or do we just have to ignore it? Is there a truth to the common belief that so long as a man prays fervently and he is not doing anything wrong to his fellowmen, regardless of your religious affiliation, he would still be saved? Is it in accordance to the will of God? This is what Deuteronomy 12:5 says--

“But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, thither thou shalt come.”

Where are we supposed to go, according to the Lord God? The Bible says that--

“unto the place which the Lord your God shall choose…”

Who shall choose the place? God, of course! Did He give any specific directive? Did God give His consent that we can go anywhere? No! There is no sense if you will just go anywhere. It would appear that you are the god because, despite His directive, you still go where you want to go.

If your son tells you that he will go wherever he wants to because he is already 10 years old, will you give him your consent? Actually, even if your son or daughter is already in his/her age of reason, you still would not let your children go wherever they want to because you love them. But greater is the love of God to all of us that is why He would not permit us to be just anywhere. Being a God of justice, He will not allow you to go anywhere you want. What the Bible says is clear--

“unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, thither thou shalt come.”

Let me give you an example. For a time, Adam and Eve served God. They were not bad in the beginning. And while they were in service to God, they were kept safe in a place chosen by god, and that was the Garden of Eden. Gen. 2:8, 15 says--

“And the LORD God planted a garden eastward of Eden ... And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden ...”

Did you see where God intended man to live? Spiritually, physically, and biologically speaking, God wanted man to live where plants grow abundantly. For the man of God to be healthy, Adam was put in a place chosen by God. He did not place him in an environment that would be hostile to him like the Sahara desert. And neither did He place him in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Adam was meant to be taken care of by God in the Garden of Eden. There was a specific place that God assigned for Adam – the garden. And there, he could freely eat the fruits of the plants except the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

In other words, during the duration of Adam’s service to the Lord, he stayed in the place where God wanted him to be. But when Adam and Eve transgressed, they were sent out of the Garden of Eden.Genesis 3:23 says--

“Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden ...”

This means that the Garden of Eden is a place of obedience. If you disobey, you will be thrown out. And it is after God has thrown you out that you can go wherever you want to. You can now be a vagabond like Cain. You can now go wherever you please because you refuse to be taken care of by God. You see, God has an administration over man, and Adam and Eve used to be under God’s direct administration when they were still in the Garden of Eden. But after their transgression, they were sent away. It is very important that we realize this. This truth could also be reflected in the “Pasyon” of the Catholics:

    “Sapagka’t pastor kang tunay

    Nitong mundong kabilugan

    Ang obehang sino pa man

    Kung di masok sa bakuran

    Hindi mo masasakupan.

    (Because you’re the real pastor)

    (Of this world)

    (And whosoever refuses)

    (To enter your domain)

    (Will be outside your administration)

Therefore, there is a specified place of dominion. So, who was the god who taught you that you can be wherever you want to be? Definitely, he is not the God of the Bible. He is just the god invented by greedy pastors who crave for your money. They are bringing people anywhere. See if they are not really craving for your money. One pastor said, “Yes, you can go to any other church. You can listen to their sermons, you can pray with them, and worship with them. But your tithes must be given to your mother church!” Do these pastors look after the welfare of their flock? They let their flock “graze” anywhere, but they make sure that their money goes to them. It’s pretty obvious that they are only after the money. But, were the true ministers of God interested only in his members’ money? II Corinthians 12:14says--

“Behold the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not yours, but you:”

For a true minister of Christ, “what you own” is not important. What matters to him is “you”. But that is not true with the pastors today. They are only after what you have – your tithes, your offerings. And that is against what the Bible teaches because the Bible said, you cannot serve God just anywhere. This is what Christ said in John 12:26--

“If any man serve, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servants be ...”

Christ doesn’t want you to serve Him anywhere. You have to be where He is. So, let us ask our Lord Jesus where He is. Where shall we serve Him? Where shall we worship Him? Hebrew 3:6 says--

“But Christ as a son over his own house ...”

Therefore, Christ is the head in the house of God. What is our basis? Hebrew 10:21 says

“And having a high priest over the house of God:”

Where is Christ? He is in the house of God, in fact, He is heading the house of God. In other words, if you are going to seek for God, you can find Him in the house of God. The question now is: Which is the house of God?I Timothy 3:15 says--

“But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God ...”

Therefore, the house of God is the Church of God, the pillar and ground of the truth. The church is the house of God. So, if you want to be governed by Christ, you are not supposed to go just anywhere because there is a specific place where Christ reigns, and that is in the house of God, or the Church of God. It is there where Christ rules. And this church of God in the Bible is what we are preaching. We are not claiming that we are that church because it was already in existence even before we were born. What we did is, we joined that Church. We made ourselves members of that Church. And we are preaching to all that, whosoever wants to serve Christ should go there because that is where Christ is. He is the high priest there. It is in the house of God, which is the Church of God, where we are supposed to have fellowship.

The question now is: Is it man’s obligation to join, or be a part of the Church being mentioned in the Bible? Let me reiterate that what I am preaching of is the Church in the Bible. People have come up with different names for the Church in the Bible, but whatever name they have conceptualized, there is but one church being spoken by the Bible. The question is: Is it God’s will that we join that Church? Is there a need for a church? Other preachers say, “Just accept Jesus.” How can you accept Jesus Christ if you are rejecting the church?

Remember Christ is the head of the church. How can you accept Jesus Christ if you are setting the church aside? Will that be possible? It is just like asking for a warm ice cream. How can you accept Christ and reject the church when Christ is the head of the church? You are beheading the church that way. You take the head and leave the body. Don’t forget, the body is the church. So, it’s pretty awkward if you will just accept the head, or Christ, and discard the body, which is the church. That is wrong!

Let us ask the Bible: Is man duty-bound to join the church that is being mentioned in the Bible – the Church of God? Can a man be saved if he is just anywhere, or, does he have to incorporate himself in the Church if he wants to be saved? Ephesians 3:6 says--

“That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs . . .” Gentiles are fellow heirs. Gentiles are those that are outside Israel. Therefore, we are classified as Gentiles. And the Bible says--

“That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, and of the same body . . .”

So, for the Gentiles to become heirs, they need to make themselves part of the “body”.“. . . and partakers of his promise in Christ . . .” The Gentiles may become partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus if they become parts of the “body”. Now, what is the “body”? Colossians 1:18 says--

“And he is the head of the body, the church;;”

Which is the “body”? Its head is Christ and the entire body refers to the Church. And the Gentiles need to be of the same body. They cannot reject the church. They cannot say that they would serve God on their own, in their respective houses. That cannot be!

Christ said, Love your fellowmen; love your brethren. If you are all by yourself in your house, whom will you love? Is it yourself also? Christ said, give donations. To whom will you give your donation? Is it yourself also? Will you take money from your left pocket and give it to your right pocket? That is impertinent. You cannot be saved on your own. Submit yourself to the word of God. He said, for the Gentiles to become fellow heirs, they should make themselves members of the “body”, which is the Church being headed by Christ. Combine the “head” and the “body”, the result is the Church. You need to be a part of the body for you to be ruled by Christ, for you to be under the dominion of Christ. What will become of those who are not under Christ’s leadership? Isaiah 63:19 says--

“We are thine: thou never barest rule over them . . .”

Are there people who are not being ruled by Christ? What happens to these people? In Isaiah 58:11, it says--

“We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us:”

Salvation is far off from people who are not being ruled by Christ. If you want to be saved, you need to be ruled by Christ first. And for you to be ruled by Christ, you have to make yourself a part of the “body” being headed by Christ, which is the Church being mentioned in the Bible.

Now, what are you supposed to do to become a member of the “body”? How are we supposed to join the church? Do we really have to join the church after all? Romans 12:9 says--

“Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.”

Are we commanded to “cleave” to that which is good? Yes! In the way that we are commanded to abhor evil. In other words, we really need to integrate ourselves and cleave to what is good. But there are people who prefer joining elite and prestigious organizations because most of the people that they will mingle with in those groups are the rich and the professionals. Normally, the rich join the group of the rich also. In the first place, the worth of an organization does not depend on the number of rich members it has. But do you know that their ending is very pitiable? Luke 6:24-25,20 says--

“But woe unto you that are rich for ye have received your consolation. Woe unto you that are full for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep. Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.”

Therefore, greater is the number of poor people who would become worthy of the kingdom of God. That is why, in a way, I am delighted that most of the members of our group are poor. It is a proof that the word of God in the Bible cannot be broken. The majority of our members are poor. They are without cars so they just walk; they eat on plates made of plastic. But despite that, I am very proud to tell everybody that our faith is real. We do not cheat each other, and that, we can prove to all.

God said, abhor the bad, and cleave to that which is good. And the only way by which we can be under the leadership of our Lord Jesus Christ is by making ourselves members of the ';body,” or the Church. This why there is no truth to the belief of others that you can still be saved regardless of your religious affiliation. The Bible said, we need to affiliate ourselves with the church which is being mentioned in the Bible. This is what I John 1:3 says--

“That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us.”

With whom shall we have fellowship? With the Apostles? They are all gone; they are all dead. Stephen was stoned to death, while John the Baptist was beheaded. So, with whom shall we have fellowship? I John 1:4 says--

“And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.”

With whom shall we have fellowship? We can have fellowship with the Apostles thru their writings – thru the doctrines. Man will die but the word of God will remain. Christ said, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my word shall not pass away.” (Matthew 24:35).

And it is in the Word that shall not pass away that we should cleave at. That is what you are supposed to accept. It doesn’t matter if St. Paul and St. John are gone because the doctrines of Christ, which they taught, shall live forever. These doctrines and teachings are what you should accept. In Philippians 2:12, it says--

“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence.” Paul was telling his brethren to always obey, not just in his presence but most especially in his absence. This only proves that, indeed, a preacher may pass away, but the doctrines and the teachings shall not pass away. So, what are you supposed to do now? Let us continue the verse: “. . . work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”

Work to the fullest; work incessantly. What work are you supposed to do? Do all the teachings and doctrines taught to you – fully and completely. That is why, despite the physical absence of Christ and the Apostles, the doctrines have remained intact. They had been written. Everything that the Apostles saw and heard had been written down “for your joy may be full”. Therefore, it is the teachings that you should accept and have fellowship with.

Isn’t it that one of the admonitions of the Apostles is not to aggrieve the poor? They do not want the Christians to aggrieve the poor. Are there still poor in our society today? Yes! That means that such a doctrine should still be observed despite the fact that the Apostles who taught it are already dead. That particular doctrine continues to be a doctrine that a servant of God should follow. It remains.

The church began in Jerusalem. In the course of time, it reached Judea. Later, it also reached Thessalonia. Because the Thessalonians wanted to be saved, what did they do after hearing the word of God? I Thessalonians 2:13-14 says--

“For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because when he received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of man, but as it is in truth the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe. For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judea are in Christ Jesus:”

The Thessalonians accepted the word of God. And after accepting it, they became one with the brethren in the church of God in Judea in Christ Jesus. Therefore, if we will also accept the word of God which the Apostles preached, we will also be the same with the Church of God in Judea in Christ Jesus, in the same manner that the Thessalonians became like the Church of God in Judea. The same will happen to other people in other places who would accept the word of God. They will be one in their obedience to the doctrines. If the brethren in the Church then did not engage in thieving, those who would accept the word of God today will do the same. They will not also engage themselves in thieving.

Have you come across an apostle who is asking money from everybody? They call it an offering. Have you read any verse in the Bible that permits a preacher to collect money, or offering, from just anybody? Proverbs 15:8 says--

“The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD ...”

The offering of an unrighteous person is an abomination in the sight of the Lord. But the disciples of today’s false prophet accept money even from prostitutes. And they have fooled a lot of people by saying that the money, which they solicit, is for the Lord. How impoverished their god must be, that he would accept money from just anybody! Where in the Bible can you read that you can collect and accept money from all people? You cannot read any verse that tells that the Apostles collected money from passers-by.

Let us take our case for instance. If you are a person of at least a little self-esteem, you will not borrow rice from all of your neighbors. Of course, you will just borrow from people whom you think are kind-hearted and trustworthy. But definitely, you would not borrow from all of them. Otherwise, of course, you have no “delicadeza”. We need to accept what the Apostles heard, which they declared to us thru the Bible. And once we accept it, St. Paul said in I Thessalonians 2:13-14--

“For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe. For ye, brethren, became followers of the Churches of God which in Judea are in Christ Jesus:”

So, if you want to experience what happened to the Thessalonians, there is a “pattern” that we need to follow for us to be molded as one. We could be molded like one person, with a way of life similar to that of the first Christians. This “pattern” refers to the word of God in the Bible – the teachings of the Gospel. That is why, if the youths then did not become drug addicts, if they behaved with meekness and modesty, if they feared God, and if they loved their fellowmen, that would be the very same attitudes that those who would accept the word of God would develop. Why? Because they will be molded using the same “pattern.”

It’s just like producing pairs of pants in big volumes. Whether a thousand pairs will be sewn, there wouldn’t be any discrepancy in their lengths and widths so long as the pattern was followed faithfully. What do I mean to say? Where ever the word of God reaches, so long as the people who would receive and believe it, they will be molded in the same pattern just like the first Christians, like the first Disciples of Christ who preached the Gospel. They bore hardships and difficulties, they made sacrifices, they did not enrich themselves, nor did they build palaces for themselves. They all died poor. Unlike the present day preachers who, after preaching for three years, have already built a palace for themselves. Why? . . . because they did not follow the pattern. If only they will follow the pattern faithfully, they will not enrich themselves. An honest-to-goodness preacher will never be rich! Look at me … I began preaching since I was 17. But have I grown any richer? No! That is because I know in my heart that if you will truly preach the Gospel, you will never grow rich. How will you become rich when you do not collect all sorts of contributions like, contributions during the Thursday gathering, during the “Santa Cena”, during baptism, etc? There are no such things in the Bible. What Christ said was, “freely you received, freely give.”.” If a preacher will abide by Christ’s admonition, will he become rich? No! Instead, they will even incur lots of debts. But why is it that there are preachers who keep on getting very rich? They collect payment for baptism, confirmation, wedding, chords, candles, masses, etc. Actually, they also make money out of the dead. Even if you are already dead and your grandson wants to offer mass for your soul in purgatory, your grandson will still have to pay for it. Religion has become a very lucrative business for some pastors. Where do you think these pastors will lead you? . . . To hell! You will never be saved with such kind of teachings. They are not biblical. They are all profit-oriented.

If you want to be saved, be a part of the church that is being mentioned in the Bible. And this is what we are preaching to all. We do not have to build another church. That is why it is a must that we make ourselves members of that Church. You can never serve God just anywhere. Do not be misled. The teachings of God that could save man are in the Church being mentioned in the Bible. That is why it is necessary that we accept these teachings for us to lead a righteous life. There are laws that man must follow, and these laws are all beneficial to man.

We are not encouraging you to join us. Instead, we are inviting you to join the Church that the Bible mentions. There is a Church wherein we must integrate ourselves. How can we do it? Accept the teachings that were preached by the Apostles. Lead a life which the Apostles led. If they endured all kinds of persecution, if they denied themselves of worldly pleasures, if they did not engage themselves in drinking intoxicating drinks, if they did not womanize, if they did not gamble, you will do as they did. You will abide by everything that the Bible teaches. That is where we shall have fellowship with one another – in an organization built by God, not by man. Make yourselves a part of the Church being spoken in the Bible.
    They are both false!
    Their common ground is :

They don't speak the truth . The Word of God

They are deceitful. They teach how one should live their life, twisting the word of God.

My church is having a discussion on the influence of false doctrines on the modern day youth, what are they?

The evangelism arm of my church is having a discussion on ';the influence of false doctrines on the modern day youth'; what are the likely things to be discussed? My church is having a discussion on the influence of false doctrines on the modern day youth, what are they?
    What about this one:

    ';Only through faith in Jesus are we redeemed';

    or

    ';Jesus died for your sins';.

Ought to get some meat out of those false doctrines. My church is having a discussion on the influence of false doctrines on the modern day youth, what are they?
Already you start with a biased question. What is false? Any religious thoughts that don't agree with yours?
your church is having dicussions on how to brainwash the flock and give them a big ego so they dont realize that they are the misguided and lost.

christians stole from many religions and they refuse to accept that thier religion has harmed anyone.

tell that to Africans who are dying of AIDS because of christian doctorine and dogma.

tell that to South America which is so corrupt you can go to jail for just being there

Tell that to America who believes anything thier government says as truth even if its a bold faced lie.

tell that to India where Hindus are being killed off by christian and muslim extremists both
    The Rapture

    Once saved always saved

    All will go to heaven

    Jesus was a Liberal

Books of the bible you don't need to read.

Christ should be worshiped as God

Adam and Eve were the only 2 created humans by God!

    Children of Cain were black

    Cain married his sister

    The old testament is dead

    The laws no longer apply

This is a good start on false doctrines!
I don't know, but the only false doctrine I know of is Christianism, so they'll probably make up some story saying that gay people are demons or something. Don't go to church, it's bad for the soul.
    Follow your own path.

Go within to experience your own truth - seek out many teachings from people who are not of religion maybe and who have nothing invested in what you 'should be thinking'.

You are a free spirt and all the knowledge is within you.

'The kingdom of heaven is within you' - Not someone else or some elses beliefs.

Try www.tut.com for a great discussion forum from people of all faiths and backgrounds.

    Bless.
I find this offensive. (not you, but that your church says this sort of thing) They do not KNOW any more than the rest of us. They have a book, zippity doo dah day. That Book, no matter how revered, does not prove a damned thing, so they have NO RIGHT to pretend they know how God will choose to communicate with ME.

    rant over. Sorry.
what kinda church do you go to?
    Evolution theory
Whatever your pastor disagrees with and sees the most sensationalistic headlines about.

Bet ';secular humanism,'; ';the occult,'; and Islam will come up. The Divine Feminine may too, because of the Da Vinci Code.

    Bet most of his information will come from conservative Evangelicals who got it from other conservative Evangelicals, and not from actual adherents to the ';false doctrines.';
