Why do dishonest hypocrites lie about their belonging to cult religious organization or other false doctrines?

I have seen a great deal of hypocrisy by those who claim to be Christians, but they deny their cult religion they belong to when put on the spot. Why do you think it is that they behave this way?

Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons and even Moonies all claim to be Christians. If these are the people to whom you refer then I think the answer is that they think the name 'Christian' will give them a respectability that they would otherwise not have.





It would be better, and certainly more honest, if they told people immediately who they were.





The only group that I know of who would actually deny being what they are are moonies. I have had several experiences of them telling me they are not moonies and finding out later that they are. They do this because their main aim is to collect money and the term 'moonies' is now well known so they are taught to use 'heavenly deception'. They are told it is fine to lie for God as long as it achieves what they wish to achieve.
Its what sells their books. so and so forced me to do ';THIS'; and after I did it i realised that christ was the only way and my life is good now. GET OFF IT!!! they just want money and are willing to say whatever they have to to sell sell sell their book.
FEAR, GUILT, DECEIT, lies and hypocrisy are the main tools of the xian salesman.


This is not surprising as the whole scam is built on exactly that.

Aside from the definition of ';cult'; wherein Every group constitutes ';a Cult'; Witnesses are by no means ';Cultists';.
the same reason nobody has EVER thought themselves to be a bad person (not truly anyway). 'cult' has negative implications, and they don't think of THEIR cult as being a negative thing.
Why do redundant ranters abuse dishonest hypocrites?
Can you be more specific? What do you mean by ';they deny their cult religion when put on the spot';?
I don't know anybody who does that, stop making facts up
maybe their cable went out.
